De leden van de Animal Collective houden wel van een beetje variatie. Ze hebben allemaal bijnamen, experimenteren met de bezetting van de band en brengen een enorme hoeveelheid cd's uit onder zeer veel verschillende (vaak zelf opgerichte) platenmaatschappijen. En de muziek is...tja, erg gevarieerd. Als Collective zijn ze al toe aan hun achtste cd; 'Strawberry Jam'.

Live schijnen ze een sensatie te zijn. Van de nieuwe cd is de single "Peace Bone" geplukt en het zal niemand verbazen dat er op de single drie variaties van het nummer staan.

Om het verschil in stijl van de band te tonen is het misschien goed om ook een ander nummer van Strawberry Jam te laten horen. "Fireworks" is een '4th of july' nummer en, wat mij betreft, een belevenis.

Gaat der goed in bij me. Als ik eens wat tijd over heb zal ik eens naar hun cd's luisteren. Live lijken ze wel wat op Battles :D

3 jaar terug gezien op motel mozaique. Bomvolle zaal bij aanvang. Na 10 minuten was de zal nog maar voor de helft gevuld. Niet de meest toegankelijke muziek blijkbaar.
Maar ik heb echt staan genieten. Zeker een aanrader!

Ik vond eerst Fireworks leuker, maar eigenlijk begint dat Peace Bone steeds meer aan te kleven. Het is muziek waar je in kunt groeien.
